Job overview

This is a permanent visiting care role supporting a 90-year-old client with multiple care needs. The successful carer will provide personal care, medication management, household support, and friendly companionship. The role is based around the client's home and requires fluency in both English and either Latvian or Russian. Working hours are flexible between 8-30 hours per week, to be agreed once funding confirmation is received.

Key responsibilities
==========================
The carer will visit the client's home and undertake the following:
• Manage and administer medicines
• Support with hygiene and toileting needs
• Assist with mobility around the home
• Buy groceries and prepare meals
• Complete household tasks such as cleaning and laundry
• Provide friendly companionship and emotional support


About the client
==========================
AGE: 90
MEDICAL CONDITIONS: Arthritis, dementia, and heart failure
ADDITIONAL HEALTH NEEDS: The client experiences partial incontinence and primarily uses a wheelchair, though can walk short distances with support.
PERSONAL INTERESTS: The client is optimistic and joyful, enjoys poetry and songs, likes reading and watching comedies and TV shows.

Requirements
==========================
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Care Certificate or equivalent care qualification

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Fluent spoken English
• Fluent spoken Latvian or Russian
• Basic cooking knowledge
• Friendly, chatty, and positive demeanour
• Strong listening skills and ability to provide companionship


Working pattern
==========================
Permanent role, 8-30 hours per week. Hours and working days to be agreed with the carer once the client's council funding is confirmed.
