Summary
An established UK engineering and project delivery business is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to support the safe, compliant delivery of installation, refurbishment and maintenance works across construction projects and live operational leisure environments.
This role offers a hybrid working model, combining office presence, home working and regular UK site visits. You will work closely with operational leadership, project teams, contractors and clients to embed strong health & safety standards across a varied project portfolio.
Location & Working Pattern
- Office based in Greater Manchester (2 days per week)
- Remote working (3 days per week)
- Regular UK travel to project sites and meetings (Approx 2-3 visits per month)
Salary & Benefits
- £35,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities
- Support the safe and compliant delivery of installation, refurbishment and maintenance works across construction projects and live operational environments.
- Promote a positive health & safety culture and ensure compliance with UK legislation, including the Health & Safety at Work Act and CDM Regulations 2015.
- Produce, review and manage Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring practical control measures are implemented and followed on site.
- Carry out site inspections and internal audits, tracking actions through to close‑out and supporting external inspections where required.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, completing reports, identifying root causes and supporting RIDDOR reporting where necessary.
- Deliver toolbox talks, site inductions and safety briefings, supporting workforce competence and engagement.
- Maintain accurate H&S documentation and ensure subcontractors and suppliers meet required safety standards.
- Support environmental controls, wellbeing initiatives and the management of health & safety accreditations and PQQ submissions.
About You
- NEBOSH qualified
- Previous experience within the construction sector
- Comfortable working across live and operational environments
- Confident engaging with contractors, site teams and senior stakeholders
- Organised, practical and able to work autonomously
