Active Prospects are looking for a service manager to lead our brand-new service in Redhill, supporting young adults with a range of needs including but not limited to learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs as well as some medical needs.

You will lead a team to deliver a responsive, person centred and flexible support service and enable the people we support to build independence and aspiring live the life they want and towards their goals and aspirations and dreams. You will also promote a psychologically and physically safe, fair and respectful working environment, using people strengths and creating a shared purpose so they can live their “gloriously ordinary” life.

we are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and values driven registered service manager for a residential service in Redhill, supporting young adults 18+ with learning disabilities and autism. the individuals within the service may have complex needs and experience trauma and may display behaviours that challenge.

the ideal candidate will be resilient, kind and caring. someone who can foster a nurturing environment where individuals can feel safe and recover, learn new skills and build positive relationships, return to education and develop skill for employment. must have good communication skills and be confident working with mental health needs (depression, anxiety). as well as familiarity with social media, relationships and drug use and or substance misuse.

Main Responsibilities:


Ensure that staff are enabled to provide support that meets organisational quality standards and is safe and person centred, focused on least restricted practice and shared learning
To have strong knowledge of mental health and legal frameworks including community deprivation of liberty, supervision order, probation within MAPPA and or Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements
To ensure decision-making on behalf of the individuals within the service are within the Mental Capacity Act, and where decisions constitute a deprivation of liberty, to ensure these are least restrictive and required assessments and authorisations and sought.
Hold regular multi-disciplinary reviews with individuals, family, support staff, and other professionals, and external agencies ensuring individuals are at the centre of all meetings.
Leading the assessment process for admission, working in partnership with senior staff to support placements and secure funding and contract arrangement.
Leading on recruitment with accordance with organisational Recruitment and Selection policy and procedure
To work with HR managing grievance and disciplinary matters in accordance with organisational policy and procedure
To act as an assessor and provide coaching, guidance and leadership to employees including work-related qualifications
Ensure monthly staff rota reflect the needs of the individuals within the service and completed 6 weeks in advance.


Information management:

Systems & Process:


Maintain all records required by the organisation, regulators and current legislation
Report any accidents and or incidents to head office in line with organisational polices and procedures.
Ensure KPI are met and reported monthly
Report any complaint to head of quality and work with individuals in resolving any issues at service level without escalating issues
