Summary

**Senior Behavioural Support Practitioner**

We are looking for a Senior Behavioural Support Practitioner to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will support clients who exhibit complex behaviors that can be challenging. You will work with individuals receiving services from the Tower Hamlets Community Learning Disabilities Service for Adults with Learning Disabilities.

Your focus will be on delivering a variety of person-centred assessments and interventions, all aligned with a Positive Behavioural Support approach.

The role involves collaborating with clients, families, support workers, and professionals to help them better understand and respond to challenging behaviors in accordance with the principles of Positive Behavior Support (PBS) and Positive and Proactive Care, aimed at reducing the need for restrictive interventions (2014).

Interventions will take place across various settings, including residential and day services, and will require teamwork with a multi-disciplinary team.

The individual in this position will be engaged in researching and evaluating local services and will play a key role in delivering relevant training to enhance the knowledge and skills of appropriate stakeholders.

Acting independently, the post holder will manage a defined caseload of complex cases, demonstrating problem-solving and clinical reasoning skills based on evidence-based and client-centered principles. Additionally, he or she will participate in clinical development as needed.

When necessary, the role will also involve conducting functional analyses of clients’ challenging behaviors, as well as supervising Behavioral Support Workers employed by the organization.
