Summary
Duties and responsibilities of this role will include, but not be limited to; To work as part of a team alongside other clerical staff within the department and to be part of a wider multidisciplinary team delivering a high quality service to other staff and patients.To make appointments in accordance with the national waiting time standard. To help ensure that the North Mid NHS Trust meets the cancer target guidelines. To escalate the policy when patient appointments are being made outside the cancer target guidelines. Retrieve and process mail, incoming and outgoing telephone calls in accordance with Trust Policies. Provide professional reception cover, updating and correcting current patient details as necessary. Receive patients and visitors to the clinic in a professional and friendly manner. Accurately input, retrieve and collate information using departmental and Trust computer systems in a timely way being mindful of data protection at all times. This includes using the system Solitan. To act on Solitan messages and emails which may include requests for reports and or notifications of unexpected findings.Respond promptly and efficiently to routine queries referring queries on to other personnel as appropriate.
