Summary
Ensure consulting rooms are prepared in readiness for each consulting period, reception and waiting areas are tidy and safe. Ensure total familiarity with appointments system, including regular & incidental variations. Act as first point of contact for patients with a caring and empathetic manner Taking accurate and detailed triage accounts for any Appointments or home visit requests, booking through the appropriate channels while always following practice protocols.. Receive and make calls as required. Divert calls and take and record messages as appropriate. Monitoring flow of patients within the surgery Monitor effectiveness of the system and report any problems. Dealing with patient/visitor queries and ensuring that they are dealt with appropriately following current practice protocols. Ensuring all necessary items are communicated to other members of the Primary Health Care team appropriately. New Patient and Temporary registrations are completed. Ensure the telephone system is operational at the beginning of each day and has switched over to night service at the end of each day. Open premises at the start of each day (branch surgeries), switch off alarm and make all necessary preparations to receive patients. Secure premises at the end of each day, ensuring the building is totally secure, internal lights off and alarm activated. Ensure information is computerised correctly and following protocols on a daily basis. Ensure correspondence, reports, notes, results etc are filed or scanned appropriately daily. To ensure that all administrative procedures are carried out following the surgery's guidelines. Ensure all records both paper and computerised are tidy and completed in the appropriate manner following procedures.
