Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Grounds Operative to join our environmental team with Norwich City Service Limited (NCSL). If you have knowledge of grounds maintenance activities, able to work in a physically demanding role and have a driving licence, we would love to hear from you.
About the role:
The focus of this role will be to help maintain and improve the standard of Parks, Open Spaces and housing areas to the required standards.
Roles may include but are not limited to:
• Grass cutting, hedge cutting, shrub bed maintenance, wood chipping, spraying, litter picking and bin emptying.
• Drive various vehicles within the scope of an appropriate licence, such as 3.5 tonne van, 4x4 truck, pedestrian mowers, quad bike and ride on mowers.
• Responsible for the proper use, safekeeping and maintenance of plant, equipment and hand tools.
• Liaise with members of the public and provide readily available information and resolve any issues if able to do so.
The ideal candidate for a Grounds Operative (Level 1) will have a full UK driving licence, have basic knowledge of ground maintenance activities and demonstratable experience of working in a physical role. For candidates interested in Grounds Operative (Level 2), in addition to the above they will have a qualification in the safe use of hedge cutters, strimmer's, pedestrian mowers, woodchippers, ride on mowers, hand and backpack blower’s. They will also hold a PA1, PA2 and PA6 qualification. The successful canidate will have advanced knowledge and understanding of maintenance activities and equipment.
