Summary

The School of Psychology & Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Lab Manager to support the St Andrews Baby and Child (ABC) Lab. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative developmental research exploring the origins of social and cognitive abilities in infants, children, and adolescents. The post-holder would be joining a collaborative, research-intensive School consistently ranked among the leading Psychology departments in the UK. The post-holder will play a central role in ensuring smooth day-to-day running of the lab and supporting high quality research delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

Coordinating participant recruitment, building partnerships with local sites, including nurseries, schools, museums, and community organisations.
Managing participant records, scheduling, and overseeing laboratory systems
Supporting research activities of staff and students within the ABC lab
Participant testing and data management
Managing recruitment and coordination of undergraduate and taught postgraduate research assistants
Leading public engagement activities and maintaining the lab’s public profile.

You will have a degree (or equivalent experience) in Psychology or a related field, research experience (ideally involving developmental populations), excellent organisational and communication skills, and a strong interest in social and cognitive development. A full, clear PVG will be required for the role.
