Summary

We are excited to offer a brand-new opportunity for a Mobile Facilities Team Leader. This is a varied and rewarding role covering sites across the South West and East Midlands. To support you in the role, a company vehicle is provided, making travel between sites straightforward and hassle‑free.

While the core of this role is aligned to HMP Nottingham, there is flexibility around base location, so if you’re located nearby or within reasonable commuting distance, we’d still encourage you to apply.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week (across 7 days where a weekend shift pattern is in place). There is a need to work 1 in 4 weekends, but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).

The base salary is between £35,756 - £42,063 dependant on experience.

At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing them with safe, clean and efficient prisons. By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly. As part of a brand‑new mobile team structure, this role gives you the chance to play a key part in shaping how mobile FM services are delivered across the prison estate.

The Mobile Facilities Team Leader leads and supports a mobile team of engineers across multiple prison sites, ensuring maintenance work is delivered safely, compliantly and to a high standard while managing workloads, stakeholders, and team performance.

What you will do:

Leading and supervising a mobile team of multi‑skilled engineers across multiple prison sites
Ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely, compliantly, and to a high standard
Managing day‑to‑day workloads, prioritising jobs, and allocating tasks across the team
Championing health, safety, and security, ensuring all works follow legislation and prison protocols
Acting as a key point of contact for site teams and stakeholders, resolving issues quickly and professionally
Monitoring performance, approving timesheets, and completing basic reporting and compliance checks
Supporting, coaching, and developing your team to drive continuous improvement
Taking part in an on‑call and weekend rota and travelling between sites as required

What you will bring:

Full UK driving licence (this is a mobile role covering multiple sites)
Previous experience of working within the Facilities/Estate management arena
Facilities Management qualifications are advantageous, such as Health & Safety competence (IOSH level or equivalent)
Ability to work on own initiative, understanding deadlines and priorities
Previous experience leading mobile or multi‑site teams, and dealing with customers and clients
Ideally you will have a trade background or technical qualification (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical, Building Maintenance), although this is not essential.

In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have a calm attitude under pressure and experience in using Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.

We welcome applications from a diverse range of candidates.

Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
