This is a permanent full-time appointment on a 10 PA job plan. The post holder will be part of an established multidisciplinary team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our multi-disciplinary team of Oral and Maxillofacial, Orthodontic and Restorative colleagues and several other medical related specialities.

Oxford University Hospitals is keen to appoint a substantive, full-time consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, with a focus on Head & Neck cancer management.

The role involves being a core member of the multidisciplinary team, providing both ablative and reconstructive care for Head & Neck cancer patients.

The consultant will support the general OMFS workload, on-call rota, participate in outpatient clinics, supervise junior staff, and contribute to teaching, research, and clinical governance. The position requires collaboration with colleagues across specialties.

The postholder is set to work primarily at Churchill and John Radcliffe Hospitals, but must be willing to work at any Trust location as needed.

• The post will also support the general Oral & Maxillofacial consultant workload and on-call service

• The post will be part of the core member of Head & Neck MDT

• Undertake outpatient clinics, new and follow-ups with supervision of junior staff as appropriate.

• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with medical and dental colleagues in other specialties and participate in regular clinical meetings and other post-graduate activities.

• Develop and maintain good communication with General Practitioners (medical and dental), colleagues in the salaried dental services and allied health care practitioners.

• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team within and outside the department.

• Active involvement in Audit, Clinical Governance, morbidity and mortality meetings

• Participation in departmental educational activity.

• Share responsibility for data protection, particularly digital and electronic records.

• Ensure good clinical practice and continued professional development.

• The post holder will comply with infection control practices and any relevant trust policies and procedures with regards to Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults.

• Supervision of the Specialist Registrars will be expected.
