Summary

HMP/YOI Styal, Wilmslow (SK9 4HR)
£30,866 – £36,135 + 15% weekend allowance
39 hours per week | Permanent



We’re looking for a qualified Electrician to join our on‑site team at HMP/YOI Styal, working on a long‑term Ministry of Justice contract with Amey.

This is a single‑site role — no travelling, no moving jobs around the region — offering steady work, clear routines, and long‑term security.


What you’ll be doing
Planned and preventative electrical maintenance
Fault finding and repairs across the prison site
Like‑for‑like replacements and minor works
Electrical testing and inspections to BS7671
Working safely, following set procedures and systems of work
Occasional escorting duties as required


What you’ll need
Level 2 Electrical qualification (C&G 2367 or 2357 or equivalent)
18th Edition (17th Edition considered with upskilling support)
Experience in electrical maintenance
Knowledge of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations
Good Health & Safety awareness
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Basic IT skills


Fire alarm or CCTV experience is useful but not essential.



Weekend working is 1 in 4 on a rota, paid with a 15% allowance.
