Description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health Officer to join our team and help promote and protect public health by ensuring compliance with environmental health regulations. The Environmental Health Officer will work on a diverse range of issues including food safety, waste management, pollution control, and occupational health hazards. Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of food premises, industrial sites, and public facilities to ensure compliance with environmental health regulations.
Investigate environmental health complaints and incidents, identifying hazards and recommending corrective actions.
Monitor and assess environmental health risks associated with pollution, waste disposal, and occupational settings.
Provide guidance and education to the public, businesses, and organizations on best practices for environmental health and safety.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation related to inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions.
Collaborate with other government agencies and community groups to develop and implement environmental health programs.
Enforce relevant legislation by issuing notices, warnings, and penalties when necessary to ensure compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
Proven experience working as an Environmental Health Officer or in a similar role.
Comprehensive knowledge of environmental health legislation, regulations, and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to conduct field inspections and assessments independently and safely.
Proficiency in preparing clear and concise reports and documentation.
Hours Per Week: 35.00

End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Annum: £42,771 to £46,968
