Pay Rate: £170 - £223 per day (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Openshaw on a maternity cover basis. This is a full-time role starting as soon as possible and continuing on an ongoing basis.
The school supports pupils with a range of complex additional needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and learning difficulties. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, differentiated teaching tailored to individual learning profiles within a supportive and well-resourced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet a range of SEN needs
- Create a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and wider SEN support staff
- Track and assess pupil progress, adapting learning accordingly
- Contribute to EHCP targets and individual learning plans
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working in SEN settings, ideally with complex needs, ASD, or SEMH
- Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
- A patient, consistent, and adaptable approach to teaching
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
