Premises Assistant - Specialist Referral Unit (Syon, Ealing)
Pay: £16.86 per hour Start: ASAP Contract: Long‑term, full‑time DBS: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required
A well‑established referral unit in Syon is looking for a reliable and experienced Premises Assistant to support the smooth running of their site. This is a small, specialist provision working with pupils who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion, so the environment is fast‑paced, structured and highly focused on safety and consistency.
The premises team is central to keeping the site safe, calm and fully operational. You'll be joining a supportive staff body who value teamwork, communication and a proactive approach.
About the Setting
- A focused, nurturing alternative provision supporting KS3-KS4 pupils
- Highly structured routines with an emphasis on safety, behaviour regulation and positive relationships
- A committed staff team who work closely to maintain a secure, well‑managed environment
- Smaller class sizes and a calm, controlled site layout
Your Responsibilities
- Opening and closing the site, ensuring all areas are secure and ready for use
- Carrying out daily maintenance checks and completing minor repairs
- Supporting with health & safety compliance, including fire checks and site logs
- Managing deliveries, stock, equipment and general site resources
- Keeping indoor and outdoor areas clean, tidy and hazard‑free
- Responding quickly to issues around the site and supporting staff during busy periods
- Working closely with senior leaders to maintain a safe, well‑organised environment for pupils and staff
What You'll Need
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Previous experience as a Premises Assistant, Caretaker or Site Assistant
- Strong understanding of health & safety, safeguarding and site security
- Confidence with basic maintenance, DIY and practical problem‑solving
- A calm, resilient and professional approach in a high‑needs setting
- Reliability, initiative and a strong work ethic
