Summary
University Hospitals Dorset is looking to appoint a Senior Clinical Fellow in Knee Surgery. The 12 month fellowship is supervised by Professor Adrian Harvey.
We are principally recruiting for fellows to commence inAugust 2026
but may consider applicants for future opportunities if deemed suitable at the point of interview.
Tentative interview date - Monday 8th June 2026.
The post will concentrate on elective knee surgery and will offer experience of cemented and un-cemented primary and revision knee surgery. The post will allow the surgeon to develop a specialist interest in knee surgery and applicants should have either completed or be about to complete their training in this area. The unit is involved in clinical research into joint replacement and the Fellow will be involved in this. There is no out of hours on call commitment.

There is a planned move for this service anticipated during Spring 2025 when thisrole and base of work will relocate to Poole Hospital. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the postholder’s home and work base will be classified as a commute. Any other changes unrelated to this, will be handled in line with Trust/National terms and conditions.
As part of our commitment to delivering high-quality care across seven days, this post may involve participation in an out-of-hours rota, including evenings, weekends, and/or bank holidays, in accordance with service needs. Any work undertaken outside standard hours/PA’s will attract remuneration in line with the respective NHS Medical and Dental Terms and Conditions of Service.
