About the Role:
Sugarman Health and Wellbeing is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to provide dedicated, one-to-one care for a wonderful teenage girl. This is a unique opportunity to make a profound difference in a young person's life by providing high-quality, person-centred care in her family home.
Our service user has a profound and multiple learning disability (PMLD) and is non-verbal, communicating through body language and facial expressions. She enjoys watching her favourite TV programmes, listening to music, reading books, and going out into the community. You will be trained to support her with all clinical and personal care needs, building a trusting relationship and understanding her unique ways of communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full support with personal care, hygiene, and dressing.
- Management of a gastrostomy (PEG) for feeds, fluids, and medication.
- Oral and nasopharyngeal suctioning to maintain a clear airway.
- Administration of nebulisers.
- Monitoring of vital signs and overall well-being.
- Safe moving and handling using a ceiling track hoist and specialist sling.
- Supporting with her favourite activities and community access.
- Working closely with her supportive family as part of a dedicated team.
Requirements for the Role:
- A minimum of 6 months of professional UK Care experience is desirable but not essential. We welcome carers with no experience and will provide full, comprehensive training.
- Complex Care experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- To provide the correct compliance documents, including updated Right to Work.
