Summary

Full-time, fixed-term for 12 months.

Wrexham University is looking to appoint a Funding Relationship and Reporting Manager to support the successful delivery of strategically important externally funded projects across the institution.

This is an important role within the Enterprise department, helping to ensure that major projects are effectively coordinated, carefully monitored, fully compliant, and professionally reported to funders and senior stakeholders. The postholder will play a central role in protecting funding, maintaining confidence with external partners, and supporting the University’s wider strategic ambitions.

The role will work across a portfolio of high-value and high-profile projects linked to the University’s strategic development and regional engagement activity. This includes projects supported through Ambition North Wales, Welsh Government, UK Government, Medr, Investment Zone and other strategic funding programmes. The postholder will act as a key point of contact for funders and partners, while also working closely with internal colleagues across Enterprise, Finance, Procurement, Legal and academic departments to support strong delivery and effective governance.

You will be responsible for overseeing reporting, evidence gathering, audit readiness, governance coordination, risk monitoring and project performance tracking. You will help ensure that outputs, outcomes and benefits are properly captured and reported, and that project activity remains on track. You will present progress to funders on behalf of the university and support in ensuring that the University continues to meet the expectations of major funders and stakeholders.

We are looking for someone with strong project coordination and reporting experience, excellent communication and relationship management skills, and a confident understanding of compliance, governance and externally funded activity. You will need to be highly organised, able to manage complex information, comfortable working across multiple teams and capable of producing clear and accurate reports, briefings and updates for a range of audiences. Experience of working within higher education and/or managing funded project outputs and evidence would be particularly valuable.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a team that plays a key role in driving innovation, external engagement and regional impact across the University.

Formal applications must be submitted via the university website, but for informal questions, please contact Laura Gough, Head of Enterprise and Development. Laura.gough@wrexham.ac.uk
