Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for excellent class teachers keen to work in a diverse, inclusive school community.
We want teachers who are committed, motivated, reflective practitioners with a sense of fun to work in our happy team who share these qualities.
You may be an ECT (our support for our current ECTs has been highly praised and values by our ECTs themselves) or a more experienced teacher excited at the opportunity to work in our school.
What the school offers its staff
St. Matthew’s is an exciting place to work. Situated in the centre of Cambridge, just off East Road near the Grafton Centre, we are a community primary school (not affiliated to any church, despite our name) serving a very diverse community with over 37 different languages spoken by the children. We had a positive OFSTED inspection just before the Easter holidays – at time of writing the report is not yet published.
Our children achieve highly and make excellent progress in St Matthew’s, but we know this is just one aspect of school life. One of our school aims is for St Matthew’s to be “inspiring, challenging and fun”, for the children and for the staff. We are all very proud of our strong, our inclusive ethos, the excellent pastoral care we offer and our sense of innovation and adventure. These characteristics are highly valued by our staff team, our children and our supportive parents.
We offer:
• experienced and supportive colleagues and senior leaders in a very stable, positive staff team.
• Wonderful children and families
• PPA with your year group colleagues every week - this supports excellent planning, shared workload and wellbeing
• Innovative practice
• A bright, spacious school building, just ten years old
