Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Do you want your teaching to truly change lives?

Craven PRS is seeking a committed, resilient and compassionate teacher to join our dedicated team. We work with young people who require something different from mainstream education – smaller settings, strong relationships, and adults who believe in them.

While we would ideally welcome applications from teachers with a background in English or Maths, we are open to teachers of any subject specialism, including primary-trained teachers, who have the skills and mindset to engage, motivate and support vulnerable learners.

About the role

You will:

• Teach small groups of pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs
• Deliver engaging, practical and accessible learning tailored to individual pupils
• Build strong, positive relationships with young people who may have struggled in previous settings
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support pupils’ academic, emotional and personal development

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) – or an unqualified teacher with significant, relevant experience
• Believes that relationships come before results
• Is calm, flexible and solution-focused
• Is committed to inclusion and improving outcomes for vulnerable young people
• Values teamwork, humour, and mutual support

Experience in PRU / PRS / alternative provision is welcome but not essential

We are happy to support teachers from mainstream settings who are keen to develop their practice in an alternative provision environment.

Why work at Craven PRS?

• Small class sizes and the chance to teach creatively
• A supportive, experienced staff team
• Strong leadership committed to staff wellbeing
• Excellent professional development opportunities
• The opportunity to make a tangible difference every single day

If you are the kind of teacher who believes that every young person deserves a second chance and a trusted adult, we would love to hear from you.

Visits and informal conversations are warmly encouraged.

Craven PRS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be subject to appropriate safeguarding checks.
