Are you thinking about how you can make best use of your experience within Education and make a transformational impact to the lives of Children and Young people?Are you keen to support the work of the Church of England in education?Start Date: The preferred start date is 1st September 2026, but this may be negotiated.Leicester’s Diocesan Board of Education (DBE) has a very exciting role in its forward-looking team. Through the Director, Deputy Director and this new role, the DBE works to support schools and the church to enable the delivery of distinctive and excellent church school education; all within the context of the ever-changing educational landscape and the diocesan mission to young people.
We are looking for a schools advisor who can work alongside the Deputy Director to deliver holistic Church school effectiveness. This includes supporting leadership, Religious Education (RE), Collective Worship and the ethos and distinctiveness of Church schools.
We are particularly keen to receive applications from candidates of global majority heritage as they are currently under-represented in LDBE.
This is a part-time post (0.6) hybrid working arrangement and so the successful candidate must have the facilities to work from home remotely. However, attendance at the office will be a necessity as and when required. Office hours are usually 8:30am-4:30pm. However, flexibility is needed as occasional evening working will be required. A Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) policy is operated.Salary: £45,000 FTE (actual salary £27,000)Pension: The Diocese offers a non-contributory Defined Contributions Scheme. Teachers pension can be offered for the right candidate.
Annual leave: 15 days per annum plus bank holiday and concessionary days. Probationary period: 6 months
The post may be subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
The successful applicant will need to provide proof of right to work in the UK before taking up post.
