Your new role
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Building Services (MEP) team based in Nottingham.In this role, you will take a leading position in the design, coordination and delivery of electrical building services systems, working on projects from early concept stages through to construction and completion.
You will work within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment, collaborating closely with mechanical engineers, BIM technicians and other disciplines to deliver coordinated, efficient and compliant electrical designs. You will also play a key role in supporting junior engineers and contributing to the wider success of the team.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Proven experience delivering electrical design within a Building Services (MEP) consultancy
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and standards, including BS 7671
- Experience working across multiple project stages, from concept to delivery
- The ability to manage and deliver work independently while supporting wider project teams
- Strong communication skills, including confidence in a client‑facing role
Desirable:
- Working towards or having achieved Chartered status (CIBSE or IET)
- Experience working within a BIM‑led design environment, particularly Autodesk Revit
- Knowledge of sustainable and low‑carbon design strategies
- Experience within a multidisciplinary consultancy setting
