Summary
We are recruiting for an experienced machine supervisor to oversee the safe and efficient running of a process plant in Grantham.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong mechanical awareness and proven supervisory experience within a production or plant environment.
You will take responsibility for plant performance, team coordination, and ensuring safe, stable operations across all shifts.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise day-to-day plant operations, ensuring safe and efficient performance
• Lead and support operators, promoting a strong safety-first culture
• Maintain stable operating conditions, monitoring temperatures, pressures, and system performance
• Prepare the plant for consistent overnight operation, ensuring all systems are balanced and alarms resolved
• Coordinate and support planned and reactive maintenance activities
• Ensure plant is safely isolated and prepared for maintenance work
• Respond to breakdowns, stabilising operations and supporting fault diagnosis
• Maintain accurate operational records and ensure compliance with site standards
• Ensure adequate levels of consumables and critical spares are always available
Key Requirements
• Previous supervisory experience within a manufacturing, process, or industrial environment (essential)
• Strong mechanical awareness (Level 3 qualification or equivalent preferred)
• Experience working with plant machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, or similar systems
• Proactive problem-solver with the ability to anticipate and prevent issues
• Strong communication and team leadership skills
• Flexible approach to work, with the ability to support operational demands
