Occupational Health Ergonomist Job Overview (West Midlands)
We are recruiting for an experienced Occupational Health Ergonomist / Human Factors Specialist to join a leading Occupational Health and MSK (Musculoskeletal) team on a 2-year fixed term contract based in the West Midlands.

This is a site-based Ergonomist job in Solihull, supporting a major automotive client, delivering high-quality ergonomics assessments, workplace risk analysis, and production ergonomics compliance across multiple UK manufacturing sites.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary Occupational Health and physiotherapy teams to support employee wellbeing, injury prevention, and workplace design improvements.

Key Responsibilities – Occupational Health Ergonomist Role

Conduct ergonomics assessments in workplace environments and via specialist software tools
Produce clear, high-quality ergonomics reports within agreed SLAs
Deliver findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
Support compliance with Production Ergonomics procedures, company standards, and legislation
Work closely with teams including Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, and Plant Launch teams
Conduct ergonomics audits and follow-up assessments
Support continuous improvement in workplace design and musculoskeletal risk reduction
Collaborate with Occupational Health and physiotherapy professionals within a multidisciplinary team
Travel regularly across multiple West Midlands and UK client sites
Candidate Requirements – Occupational Health Ergonomist
To be successful in this Ergonomist role, you will need:

Essential Requirements:
Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Ergonomics or Human Factors
Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and data analysis tools
Ability to analyse, interpret, and present complex data clearly
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Strong team working ability and relationship-building skills
Self-motivated with the ability to manage independent projects
Full clean UK driving licence
Desirable Experience:
Experience working in a manufacturing or automotive environment
Project management and multitasking experience
Working towards Chartered/Registered membership with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF)
Interest in automotive engineering and production systems

Working Pattern – Ergonomist Job West Midlands
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00
Friday: 07:30 – 13:00
On-site role based in Solihull
Regular travel across UK client sites required
2-year Fixed Term Contract
