Summary

Job Purpose

To Identify and build a support package with new tenants within the first 6 to 12 months of their tenancy. To help new and existing transferred tenants settle into their new home and give extra support and guidance when needed.
To assist and support the New Builds tenancy enforcement officer in managing a large volume of new tenants presenting with variable support needs. To ensure that support is in place to ensure successful management and sustainment of the tenancy and offer a holistic and supportive approach to tenants with additional need for support.

key Skills & Experience
Experience supporting vulnerable tenants (including youth, families, and older adults) with tenancy sustainment and casework management
Knowledge of housing legislation, welfare/benefits systems, safeguarding, and anti-social behaviour interventions
Ability to assess needs, manage risk, develop support plans, and handle complex cases in multi-agency settings
Strong communication skills: report writing, presenting at panels, and working collaboratively with professionals and stakeholders
Competent in IT systems (Microsoft Office and housing databases) with good record-keeping and data management

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of tenants, providing tailored support, assessments, and support plans to sustain tenancies
Liaise with and refer to external agencies (e.g. social services, health, police, voluntary sector) and attend multi-agency panels (e.g. MARAC)
Conduct risk assessments and maintain accurate records, reports, and databases of tenant support and progress
Support tenants with rent, benefits, budgeting, repairs, and tenancy issues, including addressing arrears and ASB
Promote safeguarding, equality, and partnership working while ensuring compliance with housing policies and legislation
