Personal Assistant Required – Darlington
We are looking for a kind, patient, and reliable Personal Assistant to support a 17-year-old young woman with autism in the Darlington area.
She has a heart of gold and is caring and affectionate. She enjoys Hello Kitty, Manga, Jellycat, crafting, shopping, and keeping active. At times she can feel anxious, become easily distracted, and may need calm, reassuring support to help her feel safe and confident.
This role would suit someone understanding, flexible, and able to build trust over time.
Hours
4 hours per week (term time)
8 hours per week (college holidays)
Rate of Pay
£12.71 per hour
Duties Include
Supporting access to the community
Accompanying to the gym
Supporting shopping trips
Supporting with crafts and hobbies

Familiar with autism
Patient and understanding
Reliable and punctual
Trustworthy and honest
Flexible in your approach
Organised and able to use initiative
A good communicator
Able to maintain confidentiality
Additional Information
Due to past experiences, building trust may take time. Clear and supportive communication is important, as speech may sometimes be difficult to understand — you may need to repeat back for clarification.
