Summary

As a valued Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the classroom environment. You will have the opportunity to work closely with pupils on a one-to-one basis, as well as provide broader classroom support to ensure a positive and effective learning experience.

We are keen to hear from individuals with a range of SEN experience who are passionate about supporting pupils who need additional guidance. We are looking for candidates who are patient, proactive, and collaborative in their approach, with a genuine commitment to helping learners succeed.

Role Details
- Location: Abergavenny
- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
- Start Date: September 2025 (ongoing assignments)
- Hours: 08:30 - 15:30
- Pay Rate: From £87.96 per day

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one and small group support
- Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery
- Support pupils' learning, including reading and targeted interventions
- Contribute to classroom management and pupil wellbeing
- Support outdoor learning activities, including forest school where applicable

Experience and Skills

Desirable:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (not essential)
- Experience working within primary schools
- Understanding of inclusive classroom practices
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND
- Ability to use a range of strategies to support learning
- Ability to travel (driving advantageous but not essential)

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
- Provide two recent, child-related professional references
