Summary

Complex Needs Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Keighley.

This role involves supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and communication challenges. It is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

The position is initially offered on a temporary basis, with the potential for ongoing opportunities.
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex needs
- Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and mobility where required
- Support communication using methods such as PECS, Makaton, or visual aids
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff
- Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN or complex needs (highly desirable)
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach
- Confidence in supporting personal care needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive, supportive relationships with pupils
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Ability to provide two years of professional references
- Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
- Access to training and professional development opportunities
- Valuable experience within a specialist SEN setting
