About the Role
We are seeking an energetic and resilient Sports Coach / SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Moston. This is a full-time, ongoing position starting as soon as possible.
The role is ideal for someone with a sports coaching background who is also passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will use sport, physical activity, and structured support to help engage pupils, build confidence, and promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with SEN, including SEMH, autism, and behavioural needs
- Deliver and assist with sports-based activities and interventions
- Provide 1:1 and small group support in and out of the classroom
- Encourage engagement, teamwork, and positive behaviour
- Assist teaching staff in managing behaviour and supporting learning
- Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive environment
Requirements
- Experience in sports coaching, youth work, or education (desirable)
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred)
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Energetic, patient, and proactive approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
