Brief description:
A successful secondary school in East London is seeking an English Teacher to join a supportive department focused on strong literacy outcomes, inclusivity and high academic expectations.

About the school:
The school is a large, 11-16 secondary academy serving a diverse local community. It is recognised for strong pupil progress, clear behaviour systems and high expectations. Students are based on one of two permanent sites throughout their school journey, helping to create smaller learning communities and strong pastoral care. Leadership is stable, visible and committed to staff development.

About the role:
You will teach English across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and structured lessons that promote reading, writing and oracy. You will work collaboratively within a well-established English department and contribute to curriculum planning and whole-school literacy priorities.

We're looking for a dedicated candidate to:
- Teach English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons
- Support pupils of varying abilities to achieve strong outcomes
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom practice

Requirements -
The ideal candidate would have:
- QTS or be an ECT
- Strong subject knowledge in English
- Experience teaching in UK secondary schools
- A commitment to inclusive teaching and safeguarding
- Confident classroom management skills
