Summary

Applications are invited for a highly motivated and dynamic Post-CCT Radiologist with a strong interest in Gastrointestinal Radiology to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a leading GI Tertiary Centre within a supportive and collaborative environment. We also welcome applications from Radiologists applying from overseas.

The Trust boasts a team of 20 dedicated GI radiologists across all sites, each passionate about providing high-quality care. This offers a fantastic learning environment where the successful candidate will work closely with the entire team to gain a wide range of experience. The appointed fellow will receive support from a dedicated clinical supervisor throughout the programme, as well as an educational supervisor who will oversee the fellowship across all specialties.

Our department is proud to offer a well-established fellowship programme across multiple specialties, allowing the fellow to work alongside a larger multidisciplinary team and enhance their expertise in GI radiology at an advanced level.

Intervention:

The role involves direct supervision and training to achieve and exceed the level 2 FRCR curriculum for a broad range of complex non-vascular interventional procedures. These include biliary interventions, renal tract interventions and endoluminal procedures.

The interventional duties will also encompass image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including ultrasound and CT-guided biopsies and drainages. The fellow will frequently participate in rendezvous procedures alongside clinicians and surgeons in theatre.

As the only centre performing hepatic and renal tumour ablation under CT and US guidance, the fellow will gain unique and valuable experience.

Diagnostics:

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to report on complex diagnostic radiological examinations, including advanced CT and MRI cross-sectional imaging, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound studies, including state-of-the-art contrastenhanced and bowel ultrasound techniques.

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) serves as the regional centre for Hepatobiliary oncology, with direct access to PET imaging and advanced diagnostic studies. In addition to hepatobiliary oncology, the fellow will be involved in multiple other oncology and benign MDTs across the Trust, including those for colorectal, upper GI, chronic liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The successful applicant will be
required to prepare and present cases at these MDTs.
