Summary
Job Purpose
To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic manufacturing environment and to support production and site operations through general labouring duties. The role contributes to health and safety compliance and the efficient running of the manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning Duties (20 hours per week)
- clean and sanitise factory floors, production areas, corridors and workspaces
- clean welfare facilities including toilets, kitchens, staff rooms and changing areas
- empty bins and manage waste disposal in line with site procedures
- replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels and toilet tissue
- clean offices, meeting rooms and communal areas as required
- use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely in accordance with COSHH guidelines
- report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damage to supervisors
- maintain cleaning equipment and ensure safe storage
General Labouring Duties (19 hours per week)
- assist with basic production support tasks as directed
- handle materials, components, and packaging (manual handling invoiced)
- support loading and unloading of deliveries (where trained and authorised)
- maintain tidiness and organisation of work areas
- assist with basic maintenance tasks such as moving equipment or site preparation
- follow all health, safety and environmental procedures
- carry our other reasonable duties as required to support factory operations
Skills and experience
Essential:
- previous cleaning or labouring experience (industrial or manufacturing environment desirable)
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- good attention to detail and time management
- physically capable of manual work
- reliable, punctual and flexible
Desirable:
- experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- manual handling training
- basic health and safety awareness
