Summary
Administer SACT and supportive treatments in home settings and the CDU in line with policy. Monitor central venous access devices (CVADs) including PICCs, Hickman lines, and ports, performing flushes, bloods, and troubleshooting. Independently plan and organise daily caseload across geographically dispersed areas, optimising travel and maintaining service efficiency. Provide patient/carer education regarding treatment, side effects, emergency contacts, and selfcare strategies. Support the chemotherapy services manager in day to day leadership and management of the CDU. Contribute to policy or pathway development relating to homecare chemotherapy. Act as a clinical role model and resource for junior staff, students, and new team members. Provide clear, compassionate communication to patients and carers, adapting style to individual needs.
