Do you have the confidence to bring languages to life?
Are you curious about helping pupils see the world differently?
Are you committed to helping every learner find their voice?
If this sounds like you, Thomas Deacon Academy would love to hear from you.
Your role:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Modern Foreign Languages, you will play a key role in supporting high‑quality teaching and learning in French and Spanish across KS2 to KS4. Working closely with the MFL Subject Leader and teaching staff, you will support whole‑class learning, deliver planned lessons, and work with individuals and small groups to build fluency, confidence and exam readiness.
You will have a particular impact on KS4 outcomes, supporting pupils with speaking practice, listening accuracy and written responses, helping them develop the confidence and resilience needed for GCSE success. Your strong subject knowledge will allow you to model accurate language, while your positive relationships with pupils will encourage engagement, independence and progress.
This role suits someone who is organised, proactive and confident working independently within a clear framework. You will bring experience of working with young people in educational settings, a passion for languages, and the ability to adapt resources and approaches to meet a wide range of learning needs. Above all, you will uphold the academy’s values in everything you do, contributing to a calm, inclusive and purposeful learning environment.
