Summary

Are you an organised, detail‑oriented team player who is passionate about delivering excellent service and contributing to an outstanding student experience? We are seeking a proactive and motivated Administrative Officer to join our Student Casework Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of key student casework processes, including Academic Appeals, Student Complaints, Student Discipline, and Fitness to Practise.

The role:

As an Administrative Officer, you will contribute to the delivery of high‑quality administrative services across our casework functions. Working with minimal supervision, you will manage your individual workload, plan and prioritise activities and ensure that casework is progressed effectively. You will apply a strong working knowledge of relevant policies and procedures, using your judgement to resolve queries where possible and escalating issues appropriately.

A typical day could include helping with enquiries from students and staff, preparing documentation for investigations, updating systems, analysing data to help underpin improvements and collaborating with colleagues across Student Administration and Academic Affairs.

Required skills and experience:

You will bring practical experience in administrative or secretarial roles with relevant vocational training or qualifications at Level 2 or 3 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework. You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office and web‑based IT systems, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and in line with policy requirements.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and communicates clearly and professionally with a range of stakeholders including vulnerable or challenging service users. You will be comfortable working under pressure, demonstrate patience and resilience, and have a strong commitment to accuracy, consistency, and excellent customer service.

Your ability to organise your workload, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain attention to detail will be essential. You will also be flexible in managing your time, including avoiding peak leave periods for the team.

What We Offer

Joining the Student Casework Team means becoming part of a supportive, people‑centred environment that values continuous improvement and innovation. You will have opportunities to develop your knowledge of University policies and systems, contribute to cross‑functional projects, and help shape processes that directly enhance the student experience.
