Summary

Primary School Teacher (ECT) – Full-time, long-term supply starting September 2026


These long-term supply opportunities are ideal for Early Career Teachers who are looking to gain valuable experience and build confidence across different primary school settings. You will be working in schools in Faringdon and the surrounding areas, delivering consistent, high-quality teaching while developing your classroom practice in a supportive long-term role.

Duties as Primary School Teacher (ECT):

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in line with the primary curriculum
  • Plan, prepare, and adapt learning activities to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain high expectations
  • Assess and record pupil progress in line with school requirements
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, mentors, and colleagues
  • Contribute positively to wider school life during the long-term placement

Ideal Primary School Teacher (ECT):

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to qualify as an ECT by September 2026
  • Early Career Teacher seeking long-term supply experience in primary education
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Confident, reflective, and eager to develop classroom practice
  • Good organisation and time-management skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Adaptable across different year groups and school environments
