Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 2 Receptionist to join our CQC rated ‘Outstanding’ Trust, within our Urgent Care Service.


Based at West Berkshire Community Hospital, you will be working in a passionate integrated team operating in partnership with the Practitioners in both the Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) and the Out of Hours GP Service.


You will be working on our busy Reception desk, welcoming patients and booking them in for their appointments and carrying out basic triaging of patients.


Shift patterns:

• 08:00hrs-16:00hrs

• Monday to Friday including Bank holidays.


Our service is open 7 days a week 365 days a year from 08:00hrs until midnight.


Free parking is available on-sitefor our staff

• Welcome patients to the Minor Injuries Unit in a courteous and helpful manner trying to allay fears and anxieties that they may have.

• Book patients onto the clinical database collecting all relevant information in timely and accurate manner

• Be able to demonstrate independent working while working in a constantly changing environment and without direct supervision but being able to ask the team for advice when required.

• Be able to act on own initiative manage own daily workload comprising of both routine and unpredictable/unplanned activities

• Carry out administrative duties for the Urgent Care Service as directed

• Previous experience of working in a healthcare environment or similar customer service role

• Can work under pressure and remain calm

• Excellent communication skills
