Summary
About the Role:We are pleased to be introducing a new role at the college for an enthusiastic Art & Design tutor to deliver the National Saturday Club - Art & Design. This nationally recognised programme offers young people across the UK a unique opportunity to explore their creativity through inspiring, hands-on experiences within the Creative Industries.Starting in November 2026, you will lead weekly sessions that encourage experimentation, skill development, and creative confidence. You will guide learners through a range of practical projects while fostering curiosity and self-expression in art and design.The role also includes supporting learners beyond the classroom, such as accompanying the group on a trip to London for the end-of-year exhibition at Somerset House, as well as contributing to masterclasses and collaborative projects throughout the programme.This is a casual position, with the club running for 3 hours per week (10.00am-1.00pm) on Saturdays over 15 weeks.What do you need to be successful as an Art and Design Saturday Club Tutor at Activate Learning?To be successful in this role, you will bring:Strong practical experience in Art & Design disciplines, including drawing, painting, and printmakingConfidence in delivering engaging, hands-on sessions for young people aged 13-16A creative and resourceful approach to project planning, including working with limited materialsThe ability to manage, motivate, and inspire groups of learnersA flexible, organised, and proactive attitude to teaching and preparationExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for working with young peopleYou will act as a positive role model, embodying the values and behaviours we strive to instil in our learners and inspiring the next generation of creative talent.
