Summary
Elwood Recruitment are recruiting Children’s Residential Support Workers in Coventry. We are looking for dedicated and experienced individuals to support vulnerable children within a small residential environment.
About the role
As part of the care and support team at the 2-bed service, you will assist in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences and independent living skills to children and young people aged 7-17 yrs living with EBD (emotional behavioural difficulties) and trauma informed care needs.
The shift patterns are 2 days on, 4 days off on a rolling rota with shift times being 8am-11.30pm plus sleep, following day 8am-11.30pm plus sleep, then finishing at 8.30am on the third day after handover.
Successful applicants will be:
· Supporting, mentoring and educating children with day-to-day activities to develop their emotional and social needs
· Developing personal and practical skills to enhance independent living
· Positive engagement to encourage children and young people in their development
· Reporting and recording key aspects of care and developing your professional skills as part of on-going development plan.
· Managing complex and behaviours that may challenge
· Support and engagement with a range of activities
Essential Experience:
Care & Support Work: 6 Months in the UK
