Summary
The position
We are looking for a PA to work with our 21-year-old autistic daughter. The role is based in South Queensferry and would involve supporting our daughter to go out in the community and engage in social activities. The role may also involve an element of support at home, engaging in tasks such as baking, preparing a meal and activities to develop her life skills
This position would be two 5-hour sessions through the week and 4 hours at the weekend. We would be open to discussing fewer hours for the right candidate. Rate of pay is £14 per hour.
Person specification
We are looking for someone with:
• An interest in supporting young disabled people to live a full life
• An understanding of autism and how this influences a person’s understanding and how they make choices
• Experience in supporting young people with a learning disability
• An empathetic and caring approach, who also has a good sense of humour
• Knowledge of social stories, using symbols and therapeutic approaches around communication would be desirable
• Driver with own car essential, expenses covered for travel within work

• 2 induction sessions
• Support with planning and evaluating the sessions
• Flexible times and days
