Summary

Clinical Practice Provide consultations, advice, and treatment for women seeking contraception, including the fitting and removal of IUDs and implants. Deliver specialist menopause support, including the initiation and ongoing management of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and advice on lifestyle changes (training can be given). Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualised care plans in line with national guidelines. Provide follow-up consultations to ensure optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction. Offer sexual health advice where required and appropriate. Support cervical screening programs and provide information on other women's health-related screening services. Service Monitoring and Quality Improvement Take an active part in service audits to assess service delivery and compliance with clinical guidelines (e.g., NICE, FSRH, and British Menopause Society standards). Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service efficiency. Education and Advocacy Educate patients on contraception options, menopause care, and broader women's health topics to empower informed decision-making. Provide training, mentorship, and advice to colleagues on women's health-related issues on an ad-hoc basis. Support the development of patient education materials and group sessions as needed. Administrative and professional responsibilities Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the surgery team. Ensure accurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients notes on the clinical computer systems as appropriate. Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care and registration with the surgery. Attend and participate in meetings as required. Assist in the formation of practice philosophy, strategy and policy and develop appropriate protocols. Research Cooperate and participate as required in any research projects with in the surgery. Liaison Maintain effective liaison with other agencies and staff concerned with patient care and with all other disciplines within the surgery, with regard to confidentiality, as required to carry out own duties. Professional development Maintain continued education by attendance at courses and study days as deemed useful or necessary for professional development. The post holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment. To participate in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development. Take a responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work. Collaboration and Leadership Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated care. Contribute to our wider strategy for improving women's health services. 3.
