Summary
We are looking for a Regulations and Compliance Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing legal, regulatory and compliance matters that directly support our homes, communities and people. As a Regulations and Compliance Officer, you’ll work across housing law, governance and corporate compliance, ensuring we meet our legal obligations while delivering fair, people-centred outcomes. Contract: 35 Hours per week, fix term (2 year contract)
Pay: £38,700
Location: Swansea – Hybrid
Driving Licence required

About the role
As a Regulation and Compliance Officer, you’ll provide practical legal and compliance support across a wide range of housing and property matters. Working closely with colleagues, tenants and external partners, you’ll help ensure effective case management of low-level housing and property related legal matters to ensure a timely, efficient and effective response, and strong governance arrangements.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing housing and property‑related legal matters such as enforcement actions relating to conduct and breach of contractual commitments (property access, anti-social behaviour, recharges etc), including injunctions; disrepair claims made under the Fitness for Human Habitation standards and other legal remedies
Supporting lease management, occupation contract variations and service charge changes
Assisting with monitoring and reporting on corporate compliance requirements with the Governance Manager
Managing and coordinating insurance claims and liaising with legal representatives
Supporting GDPR, procurement and contract management activities
Preparing documentation, reports, legal drafts and court or tribunal materials
This Regulation and Compliance Officer role sits within a collaborative Governance team and reports to the Governance Manager.
About you
We’re looking for a Regulation and Compliance Officer who is organised, confident and committed to doing the right thing. You’ll bring strong communication skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and a people‑centred approach.
You’ll ideally have:
Experience of housing law, including the Renting Homes (Wales) Act
Experience preparing or supporting legal cases and managing sensitive information
Strong analytical, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills
The ability to work independently and collaboratively
We welcome previous experience working as:
Housing Officer, Compliance Officer, Legal Assistant, Governance Officer, Paralegal, Tenancy Enforcement Officer, Contract Officer or similar roles with transferable legal, regulatory or compliance skills.
