Consultant Psychiatrist - Part Time 6PAs

The Trust is seeking a consultant psychiatrist for theNorth Kingston IRH (Integrated Recovery Hub)This is an established post.The vacancy has arisen because ofthe substantive postholders reducing their PA’s. This position is working in North Kingston IRH (generic CMHT) .

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and dynamic consultant psychiatrist to join this well-functioning dynamic team with a strong clinical leadership.

North Kingston IRH is a dynamic multi-disciplinary team that embraces the challenges of our diverse community. Team members work in a psychologically informed environment performing a variety of tasks according to skills and ability. The team is motivated to work on ways to improve the quality of the service, developing and carrying out quality improvement projects; strive to offer the best possible care and enabling patients and carers to pursue recovery. The team works closely with social care, housing agencies and substance misuse services.

The postholder will provide medical leadership toNorth Kingston IRH.The Consultant will work closely with both Team Manager and other consultant colleagues to ensure a safe, efficient and effective service that meets the Trust’s Key Performance Indicators.

The Consultant will carry overall responsibility for the day-to-day clinical care, risk assessment, risk management, initiation of medication, and the recovery focused care delivered by the team. Where problems arise, the Consultant will be afforded robust support by their Team Manager, Associate Clinical Director, and the Clinical Director and where necessary the Medical Director and Chief Executive.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
• Medical leadership, working in the multi-disciplinary team and working closely with, and providing cross-cover to other Consultant Psychiatrists within their borough or service line.
• Overall responsibility for the day-to-day clinical care, risk assessment, risk management, initiation of medication, and the recovery focused care delivered by the Team
• Availability within normal working hours during the working week for urgent review and management including formal Mental Health Act assessments.
• Domiciliary visits as required.
• Providing cross-cover for the Consultant colleagues where necessary.
• Management of complex cases.
• Allocation of resources, in collaboration with the team manager, to service users and carers.
• Ensuring the delivery of effective, efficient, safe and recovery focused mental health care.
• Multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working with social care, statutory and voluntary and third sector partners.
