Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
For September we are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to support our Science curriculum, working primarily within the Chemistry department.
You will play a key role in supporting high‑quality teaching and learning by providing practical and technical assistance to science teaching staff. This will include preparing equipment and resources so that students can confidently and safely take part in practical activities. You will also have responsibility for establishing and maintaining health and safety procedures within the Science Department, working in line with COSHH regulations, CLEAPSS guidance and school policies.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible and well organised, with a genuine enjoyment of working with young people aged 13–18. You will be someone who takes pride in your role, works well as part of a team and contributes positively to a busy department.
Applicants should have a formal science background and be comfortable working in a practical, hands on environment. They should be able to support teaching and learning in a busy school setting, demonstrate good organisational skills, and follow health and safety procedures effectively. Relevant training and support in the use of school specific equipment will be provided.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive department and make a real difference to students’ learning through practical science.
