Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors are seeking to appoint a SENDCO who will lead the school’s strategic approach to SEND and line manage key staff in our SEND provision. They will design and implement targeted and specialist support for a cohort of students with a wide range of SEND needs whilst also acting as a leader of teaching and learning across the school, as we look to create a classroom environment which is not only accessible but engaging and inspiring to students of all prior attainment levels.

The successful candidate will form part of a cohesive whole-school leadership team. They will help to ensure that curriculum planning and delivery is SEND-informed through their attendance of Academic Leaders meetings. Our vision is that inclusive practice is fully embedded across all aspects of the curriculum and wider provision rather than existing in isolation.

We are looking for an individual who:

• Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion and our Catholic life and mission.
• Is an enthusiastic, highly motivated teacher with strong SEND knowledge and the ability to adapt the curriculum in an engaging and exciting way to meet the needs of all learners.
• Is passionate about making a positive difference to the outcomes for all learners, displaying a commitment to the continual development and improvement of teaching and learning
• Has the ability to inspire and motivate staff through effective CPD.
• Has a detailed understanding and awareness of the current climate around SEN.
