About the Role:

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Brecon as soon as possible. A successful applicant will have a teaching qualification with QTS.

Secondary Science Teacher

Location: Brecon

Start Date: As soon as possible

Contract Type: Temporary, Long Term

Working Hours: Full time, 8:30 am - 15.00 pm

Salary: Paid to scale

Key Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in shaping students' understanding of scientific concepts
- Creating engaging hands-on activities to demonstrate scientific principles.
- Assessing students' progress through assignments
- Adapt teaching techniques to individuals to help them grasp complex topics
- Ensure safety in the classroom which includes proper handling of equipment.
- Managing classroom behaviour to create a positive learning

Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Physics, Biology, or Chemistry.
- Proven experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided).
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
- Hold an EWC membership (Education Workforce Council) or be willing to process a new application
- Ability to provide two professional references/cover the last 2 years in full
