Summary

Housing Accommodation Officer

Location: Folkestone & Hythe, Kent
Contract: Temproary 3 months from start date
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (Monday, Wednesday & Friday)
Pay: £17.42 - £19.64 per hour (DOE)
(£33,603 - £37,889 pro rata)
Mileage: Paid at 0.45p per mile

We're looking for a dynamic, tech-savvy Housing Accommodation Officer to join our team and help deliver essential Temporary Accommodation (TA) services. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where your strong IT skills will be front and centre-keeping systems updated, managing records, and responding quickly to changing needs.

From setting up properties to arranging placements at short notice, you'll play a key role in supporting vulnerable residents and ensuring accommodation runs smoothly.

You'll work in the office with the team every Wednesday. Your other days will be spent onsite (mainly in Folkestone & Hythe), at home, or in the office.

What You'll Be Doing

Assisting the council with setting up council owned TA to a lettable standard

Conducting spot checks and fire alarm checks

Managing inventories, check-ins, and check-outs (often at short notice)

⚡ Handling TA-related issues quickly and efficiently

Liaising with external providers to secure accommodation fast

Supporting the wider housing team as needed

What We're Looking For

Strong IT skills are essential - confident using systems and quick to learn new software

Full UK driving licence and access to your own car - essential

Ability to attend sites at short notice (must live locally)

️ Awareness of safeguarding and how to report concerns

Highly organised with great attention to detail

Experience in housing, homelessness, or property management is desirable
