JOB TITLEData Processor RESPONSIBLE TOOperations Manager LOCATIONDunsville Medical Centre Doncaster JOB PURPOSE The Data Processor plays a vital role in ensuring patient records are accurate up to date and safely maintained. The postholder is responsible for reviewing incoming clinical communications coding relevant information and actioning items where appropriate before directing clinical matters to the correct clinician or department. This role supports safe efficient and high quality patient care across the practice. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Data processing and coding Review incoming clinical correspondence from hospitals community services and other external providers. Accurately code clinical information onto patient records in line with practice policies and coding standards. Ensure relevant information is recorded clearly and consistently to support clinical decision making and continuity of care. Clinical correspondence management Identify and action non clinical or administrative items independently where appropriate. Direct clinical correspondence tasks and queries to the appropriate clinician or department using agreed workflows. Escalate urgent or complex information appropriately in line with practice procedures. Patient records and confidentiality Maintain accurate and up to date patient records at all times. Ensure confidentiality data protection and information governance requirements are strictly followed. Handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional and responsible manner. Autonomous working and organisation Work independently managing a high volume of information in a busy environment. Prioritise workload effectively ensuring tasks are completed accurately and within required timeframes. Maintain a methodical and organised approach with strong attention to detail at all times. Team working and communication Work closely with clinicians and administrative colleagues to support safe patient care. Communicate clearly and effectively when redirecting correspondence or highlighting issues. Support the wider administrative team to ensure smooth day to day running of the practice. Professional responsibilities Follow practice policies procedures and standard operating processes. Participate in training and development to maintain and improve skills relevant to the role. Demonstrate flexibility professionalism and reliability. Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required by the Practice Manager.
