Summary
Our dedicated team is looking for an enthusiastic practitioner who has a passion to nurture happy children and a strong drive to promote excellent childcare.
Joint Colleges Nursery is a small independent nursery situated in a quiet, tree-lined residential area in the heart of Cambridge. We are within close walking distance from Cambridge City Centre and the train station. Our staff describe JCN as a wonderful and rewarding place of work.
Working hours are ideally between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm, 7.5 hours a day on a rota basis, Mondays to Fridays. We are open to flexible working to suit staff's requirements.
JCN is registered for 57 children aged 0 - 5, most of whom attend full time. Our children and staff enjoy a stable environment throughout the day, and develop quality relationships with one another. Our parents describe JCN as a home from their home.
We work with the key-person system, using online learning journals. As a key-person, you will be assigned a maximum of 6 children. Paperwork time for children's development is allocated within the normal working hours of 37.5 a week.
Every one of our team members is important to us. Taking care of our staff well is what we believe in; we provide a generous benefits package in addition to promoting personal and professional development.
Benefits include, but are not limited to:
# Annual holiday entitlement of 25 days per calendar year increasing by 1 day annually to a maximum of 30 days + bank holidays (total 38 days)
# Your birthday off
# Free on-site car and bicycle parking
# Free hot meals and refreshments
# Interest free season ticket loan
# Childcare discount amounting to a free place for your child (age dependant)
# Retail discount scheme
# Nice colleagues
You should hold a full and relevant NVQ Level 2/3 in childcare or equivalent, have a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and have experience working with children in a childcare setting. If you currently are working towards your qualification, please don't let this hold you back. We are happy to provide training and support.
Joint Colleges Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Successful applicants will need to provide ‘right to work in the UK’ documentation, undertake an enhanced DBS check and provide two satisfactory references prior to commencing employment.
If you enjoy working together with a strong, supportive team contributing to making a difference in children's early years experiences, then come, join us. Serious applicants only, please.
