Summary
batec are recruiting on behalf of a well-established supplier of construction equipment and material handling machinery, supporting customers across the construction, waste, and articultural sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Mobile Fitter / Yardman to join their team based at their Avonmouth depot.
This is primarily a workshop-based role, with occasional local field service work using a company van. The role would suit someone with mechanical or plant maintenance experience who enjoys working with heavy machinery in a varied and hands-on position.
Hours and Rates of pay
Monday to Friday 7:00am – 6:00pm
From 40K per hour DOE
Based at the Avonmouth HQ
Own transport required
Key Responsibilities
Washing and preparing machines
General yard duties
Operating a forklift (training can be provided)
Carrying out servicing and routine maintenance
Machine repairs and fault finding
Investigate equipment issues
Carrying out engine, transmission, and hydraulic repairs
Occasional local field service work
About you
Experience in plant, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, or HGV mechanics
Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
Comfortable using diagnostic software and laptops
Knowledge of hydraulic systems, engines, and transmissions
Forklift experience beneficial (training available)
Reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team
