Trainees may chose to focus on developing diagnostic skills or endoscopic resection. Five sessions per week will be allocated to speciality training to include outpatient clinics, ward and speciality inpatient outreach, with the mix of these sessions to be allocated by the employing trust. These five sessions will be in effect “backfill sessions” freeing up one of the local SpRs and enabling them to attend endoscopy for additional training and/or deliver service lists.
